At the invitation of the AOCAP Advisory Board, Michael Qu participated (as the only PRC legal professional) in The Asia Pacific Alternative Ownership Conference in Hong Kong on 15 October 2012. Michael delivered presentation on the topic of "A Legal Perspective of Shared Ownership in China". The Conference was attended by senior executives from developers, hotel operators and exchange service providers and tourism industry associations from the world.
China has become the next biggest market of hospitality. During the conference, Michael has explored with the delegates from Marriot, Hilton, RCI, DAELive, HNA Tourism, etc., to define the product, looks at its historical development and regulatory environment, compares the PRC to mature markets in terms of supply and demand, identifies the challenges and opportunities for developers wanting to enter the PRC and offers guidance for industry stakeholders.
